ROSEBURG – A former NFL player and Super Bowl champion visited Roseburg High School on Monday to tell his life story.

Reggie Jones, who won a Super Bowl ring with the New Orleans Saints in 2009, spoke with students about how he overcame the traumatic events of his early life, such as seeing his father murdered and raising himself after his mother was arrested. Jones left the Roseburg audience with what he believes are practical steps to overcome adversity in all situations.

Since his playing days, Jones has spoken to audiences all across the country and shared his inspirational message. After speaking at RHS on Monday, Jones his afternoon at Eastwood Elementary School. His speech at Roseburg High School was met with a standing ovation. Afterwards, the students were able to meet Reggie, take photos, and see his Super Bowl ring up close.
