UMPQUA VALLEY – The Roseburg boys and girls basketball teams take on Willamette on Friday for the second to last match-up of the regular season.

For the girls, a win on Friday will clinch a berth in the 1st round of the 6A state playoffs. The Indians are two-games ahead of Grants Pass for the final guaranteed playoff spot out of the Southwest Conference and with only two games left to play, Roseburg needs just the one win to seal the deal. The Indians could also catch third place North Medford over the final two games and improve their seeding for the post season. The Roseburg and Willamette girls tipoff at 7 p.m. from Eugene.

The playoffs feel like a long-shot for the Roseburg boys, but they will face two teams ranked higher by the OSAA over the final two games of the regular season. If the Indians can boost their No. 40 ranking to 36 or better, they would have a solid shot at a play-in game with the winner advancing to the 1st round of the state playoffs. The Roseburg boys will celebrate senior night on Friday as they host the Willamette Wolverines. Tipoff is planned for 7 p.m. and the game will be broadcast on 1490 The Score and streaming video is available online at 541radio.com.

The Sutherlin Bulldogs play their final games of the regular season on Friday night with a trip to Junction City. The girls have already clinched a league title and will face third place Junction City in hopes of improving on their No. 7 OSAA ranking. The girls tipoff at 5:45 p.m.

The Sutherlin Boys are on the bubble of making the post season at the moment, but a win over the Tigers could catapult the Bulldogs into a play-in game. Sutherlin is ranked No. 25 by the OSAA and will likely need to be in the top 24 to earn a play-in game invite. The boy’s game is scheduled to begin at 7:15 p.m.

Coverage of Sutherlin basketball begins at 5:30 p.m. on i101fm.

Elsewhere, the Douglas girls host Marshfield on Friday with their playoff hopes hanging in the balance. The contest starts at 6 p.m. in Winston.

The South Umpqua boys are also trying to hang on to their post season dreams as they finish the regular season with a trip to Brookings-Harbor. The game begins at 7:30 p.m.

Friday is also the final games of the season for the Glide Wildcats and at the 2A and 1A levels district tournaments are in action. The Mt. View Tournament is being held at Umpqua Community College and the Skyline League tournament is taking place at Sutherlin.
