The college baseball season begins on Friday and the Oregon Ducks and Oregon State Beavers have both headed to warmer climates.

Oregon faces San Diego State in a three-game series to begin the year. The Ducks were picked to finish fourth according to the conference coaches and are ranked in four major college baseball polls, as high as No. 14 in two of them. Oregon and San Diego State begin the season at 6 p.m. Pregame coverage starts at 5:45 p.m. on News Radio 1240 KQEN.

Oregon State was the runner-up last year in the Pac-12 Conference, but was picked by the conference coaches to finish first this season. The Beavers will spend the first two weeks of the season in Surprise, AZ and will play a total of eight games. The first of two tournaments puts OSU up against Ball State on Friday. Oregon State will look to protect its top 10 ranking when first pitch heads home at noon Friday.
