PORTLAND – The Portland Trail Blazers beat the Houston Rockets 116-103 Wednesday night to head to the All-Star break with a three-game winning streak and a .500 record.

Damian Lillard scored 31 points and had nine assists to lead the Blazers, who built a 21-point lead in the second half. Houston didn’t flinch and the Rockets rallied back to within five points early in the fourth quarter. Portland responded by stretching the lead back to 20 points with 3:47 to go.

The Blazers now have eight days off over the All-Star break and will next play on February 19 at home against Golden State.

NOTES: Damian Lillard was added to the U.S. national team pool. He fell just short of a place on the 2014 World Cup of Basketball roster and wasn’t among the original 30 candidates for Rio de Janeiro announced last month. Lillard will attend the Team USA camp held in Vegas in July and compete for a spot on the 12-man roster for the 2016 Olympics.
