ROSEBURG – The Roseburg girl’s basketball team came up just short of pulling off its second consecutive upset victory over the second place team in the Southwest Conference on Friday. The Indians fought back from an early deficit against Sheldon, but the Irish held off Roseburg for a 49-47 win.

Sheldon (14-6; 7-2 SWC) pulled out to a five-point lead at halftime, but the Indians worked that down to a 38-36 score at the end of the third quarter. Roseburg (12-7; 5-4 SWC) had its chances to force overtime, but misfired on the opportunities.

Jordan Stottler led Roseburg with 15 points and Jessie Farrington added 10. Autumn Baumgartner scored a game-high 20 points to lead Sheldon.
