EUGENE – Sheldon junior Will Swank scored 10 of his team-leading 12 points in the third quarter to propel the Irish to a comeback 42-30 win over the Roseburg Indians in Eugene on Friday.

Roseburg led the Irish for nearly all of the first half. Sheldon scored first to go up 2-0, but a 3-pointer from Hayden Luttrell put Roseburg ahead and the Indians would stretch the lead to seven points by the end of the quarter. The Indians kept the lead at seven points for a portion of the second quarter, but Sheldon closed the gap to 15-12 going into the halftime break.

After the break the Irish sparked their offense and quickly jumped ahead thanks to a 15-2 run. Sheldon (13-6; 6-3 SWC) would finish the quarter outscoring the Indians 19-6.

Roseburg (7-12; 2-7 SWC) trailed by as many as 15 points in the fourth quarter, but the Indians rallied back to 38-30 with under two minutes to play. That’s as close as Roseburg would get the rest of the way.

Luttrell led Roseburg with a game-high 14 points. JD Fairbairn added six for the Indians, who set a season low for points scored in a game.

Sheldon’s Justin Herbert scored 12 points to tie Swank for the team lead. Kobe Mitchell added 10 points for the Irish.

Roseburg continues a three-game road stretch with a visit to Grants Pass on Tuesday. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m.
