UMPQUA VALLEY – There’s one local prep basketball matchup on Thursday, as the South Umpqua Lancers visit Siuslaw for a Far West League bout. The 4-1 South Umpqua boys will be the favorites against a 1-4 Siuslaw squad, while the South Umpqua girls have a decent shot at their first league win against the 1-4 Siuslaw ladies. The girls play first at 6 p.m. and the boys follow at 7:30 p.m.

The Roseburg wrestling team hits the mats for its final conference dual of the season on Thursday. The Indians are undefeated in conference meets and they square off against Thurston in Springfield at 7 p.m. Roseburg will finish its regular season on Saturday at Crook County and then heads to Thurston for the District Meet on Feb. 12-13.
