EUGENE – Oregon head coach Mark Helfrich announced 19 new signees on National Letter of Intent signing day Wednesday, but the Ducks were in the headlines more for the players they didn’t get.

A few highly touted players with interest in Oregon, ultimately decided to go elsewhere, but when it comes down to it, coach Helfrich isn’t worried about rankings by the national media. He says the Ducks went after the right guys.

For what it’s worth, the Ducks were ranked in the 20s nationally by multiple outlets.

Oregon focused mainly on the quarterback and linebacker positions, getting three new QBs and seven guys that could end up at linebacker. Oregon also recruited well in-state, signing four players from Oregon.
