MEDFORD – The Roseburg girls let a lead slip away late in the fourth quarter against North Medford on Tuesday, but a buzzer beater from senior Megan Bolin put the Indians in front for a 46-45 upset win over the Black Tornado.
Roseburg led by seven to eight points throughout much of the contest and held a 41-31 lead after three quarters, but North rallied back in the fourth quarter. The Black Tornado held Roseburg scoreless for nearly five minutes in the final period and took a 45-44 lead with seven seconds left in the game on a 3-pointer from Maggie Freeman.
With the clock running, the Indians broke free in transition and Jessie Farrington found Bolin all alone for a short bank shot to win it.
The win puts Roseburg (12-6; 5-3 SWC) in a tie for third place with North Medford (13-5; 5-3 SWC). The two teams will meet again in Roseburg to end the regular season on February 23.
