Reports out Monday say that the Ducks will hire Washington State inside receivers coach David Yost to coach the Oregon quarterbacks next year. The report was originally published by FootballScoop.com and the Oregonian says sources have confirmed that Yost has told the WSU coaching staff that he will not return.Ê

Yost will take over for Scott Frost, who left to become the head coach at UCF.Ê

As Washington StateÕs receivers coach, Yost led the position group to set school records for receptions, yards, and points. Washington State’s receivers have led the country in receptions every year since 2013. Its 500 in 2015 were 102 more than the next-closest teams, Western Kentucky and Bowling Green.

Yost previously coached quarterbacks while at Missouri and coached three quarterbacks that have made the NFL.Ê

Oregon is still seeking a replacement for defensive coordinator Don Pellum, who was demoted to linebackers coach after the Ducks lost to TCU in the Alamo Bowl.
