It was a pair of victories out on the coast for the Umpqua Riverhawks against the Southwestern Oregon Lakers on Wednesday night.

The women played first and got a big night from sophomore Anna Mumm to lead to a 101-69 victory. Mumm scored a game-high 29 points to go along with seven rebounds, five blocked shots, and four assists. She scored 20 in the first half, as the Lady Riverhawks built up a 22-point lead.Ê

Former Sutherlin Bulldog Ricki Mock started for SWOCC and scored five points and pulled down a team-high eight rebounds.Ê

The Umpqua women are now 2-0 in conference games and next travel to Portland Community College on Saturday.Ê

The Umpqua men built a 10-point lead over SWOCC in the first half, but had to hold off the Lakers for a 90-81 victory. The Lakers cut the deficit to five points with just about six minutes left to play, but UCC closed out the game for its first conference win. Charles Porter led the Riverhawks with a game-high 23 points. Mikko Balmes added 20 for Umpqua.Ê

Former South Umpqua star, Erik Johnson, had an off night. The freshman was 0-for-6 from the field and scored two points from the free throw line. Johnson has been SWOCCÕs second leading scorer this season.Ê

The UCC men will also play at PCC on Saturday.
