UMPQUA (WOMEN) 104, YAKIMA VALLEY 54
The Umpqua women had five players finish in double figures Monday, as the Lady Riverhawks beat Yakima Valley 104-54 in the Lower Columbia Holiday Classic in Longview, WA. Sawyer Kluge flirted with a triple-double to lead Umpqua. The sophomore scored 21 points, pulled in 14 rebounds, and dished out six assists. Fellow sophomore Anna Mumm added 20 points for the Riverhawks, while Maddy Pape, Olivia Williams, and Tasia Bilbrew all finished in double-figures.
The UCC women will next play in the tournament semifinals against the winner of Centralia. The Trailblazers defeated Lethbridge 87-77 in overtime Monday to advance to the game against the Riverhawks. The contest will be played Tuesday at 4 p.m.
UMPQUA (MEN) 98, SHASTA 89
The Umpqua men got a 98-89 victory on Monday against Shasta College. The Riverhawks were playing at the College of the Siskiyous and improve to 7-4 on the year.
