WINCHESTER – The No. 1 ranked Umpqua women clinched a South Region championship with a 78-41 win over Clark College on Wednesday.

The Lady Riverhawks stormed out to a big lead in the first half and cruised to their eighth victory by 30 or more points this league season. Umpqua’s defense held Clark to just 23-percent shooting, while the UCC women shot 50-percent from the floor.

Daisy Powell led the Riverhawks with 25 points. Teammate Jordan Stotler had a game-high 21 rebounds to go with 15 points, six blocks and eight assists. Bria Thames also finished in double figures with 17 points.

The UCC women have now won 14-consecutive games. There are two games left in the regular season for the Lady Riverhawks, before they begin play in the NWAC tournament on March 9.
