ROSEBURG – There’s a lot on the line Friday night as the high school football season hits the stretch run.

The Roseburg Indians aren’t playing for playoff berths, but pride is most definitely on the line for Dave Heuberger’s bunch. The Indians host Willamette in a battle of teams without a win this year.

Both teams have had close calls this season, but haven’t been able to get over the hump. They’re also both coming off of their worst losses of the season. Roseburg was shutout in a 43-0 loss at South Medford last week. The Indians struggled to move the ball against the Panthers and were hampered by injuries at the quarterback position.

Willamette was also shutout last week. The Wolverines lost 51-0 against Sheldon and finished with just 13 yards of offense.

Roseburg and Willamette will battle to stay out of the Southwest Conference cellar and to try and build some positive momentum heading to the off season. Kickoff from Finlay Field is 7 p.m. Tune in for coverage at 6:45 p.m. on 1490 The Score or watch the game streaming live online at 541radio.com.

The Sutherlin Bulldogs are also looking to snap a lengthy losing streak when they visit Junction City on Friday. Neither side has had much success this season, but the Tigers are 2-4 overall and will try to keep Sutherlin winless on the year. Sutherlin and Junction City kickoff at 7 p.m. and Dan Bain will have coverage at 6:45 p.m. on i101 FM.

There’s a huge match-up coming in the Far West League on Friday. The No. 5 South Umpqua Lancers host the Douglas Trojans in a game that will set the final league standings and determine post season fates.

South Umpqua could finish no worse than second with a win, while Douglas could move into third with a victory. A loss for South Umpqua would muddle the league standings, but most likely wouldn’t affect its chances of making the post season. Douglas might fall enough in the rankings to miss out on an at-large berth in the play-in round with a loss.

South Umpqua and Douglas kickoff at 7 p.m. from Tri-City.
