The Portland Trail Blazers selected two players out of the Pac-12 Conference in Wednesday’s NBA Draft.

Portland took center/forward Isaiah Stewart from Washington with the 16th overall pick and former Washington State small forward CJ Elleby with their second round pick at No. 46 overall.

The Blazers aren’t expected to keep their first round pick, Stewart. Numerous reports have said that Portland traded that pick before the draft to acquire Robert Covington from Houston.  As a freshman with the Huskies, Stewart (6-9, 250) averaged 17.0 points, 8.8 rebounds, 2.06 blocks and 32.2 minutes in 32 games. Stewart was an All-Pac-12 First Team and All-Freshman Team selection and ranked third in the Pac-12 in both rebounds and blocks and seventh in scoring.

Portland’s second round pick, CJ Elleby (6-6, 200), averaged 18.4 points and 7.8 rebounds per game during his sophomore season with Wazzu, while shooting 39.6% from the field and 33.9% from three-point range. He ranked fourth in the Pac-12 in scoring, seventh in rebounding and first in steals while becoming the first player in Washington State history to lead the team in scoring, rebounding, steals and blocks in a single season.
