ROSEBURG — The Roseburg Pepsi Bottlecaps Class-A Legion baseball team got back in the win column after salvaging a split against South Coos on Thursday at Legion Field.

The Bottlecaps saw their losing streak stretch to three games after a 7-4 loss in game one of the twin bill, but bounced back to win 11-4 in the night cap.

South Coos scored five runs in the first inning of game one and led the entire game. Pepsi got within three runs in the fourth, but couldn’t cut the deficit any further. The Bottlecaps finished with just four hits. Caleb Turner led the way with two RBIs.

In game two, Pepsi put up six runs in the second inning to build a lead South Coos couldn’t overcome. Trevor Muir was 3-for-4 and drove in five runs for Pepsi. Blake Watson was 3-for-3 and added two RBI for the ‘Caps.

Pepsi is now 3-3 on the year. Up next the Bottlecaps will travel to North Coos for a doubleheader on Monday.
