WINSTON – It’s a softball doubleheader for first place in the Far West League on Friday. Current league-leader Douglas hosts second place South Umpqua for a twin bill that could decide the league champion.

If Douglas sweeps both games and Marshfield and North Bend split their doubleheader, the Lady Trojans would clinch no worse than a share of the Far West League crown. Even if the other games don’t work in their favor, the Douglas girls would have a strangle hold on first place with a sweep.

If South Umpqua were to pull off the sweep on the road, the Lady Lancers would move into a tie for first with Douglas, but they would hold the head-to-head tie breaker.

Game one between Douglas and South Umpqua starts at 3 p.m.
